In August of 2017, Forbes Magazine Online, at Forbes.com, featured an article “Colored Gems Take Center Stage In Jewelry Design and Lapidary Arts Competition.” by contributing writer Anthony DeMarco. The feature recognized AGTA Spectrum Award winners, including Adam Neeley’s pendant “Cosmos,” which took First Place in Business/Day Wear. You can read more about the award on the AGTA Spectrum Awards 2017 page.
This striking design features a 24.06 carat specialty-cut morganite accented with 3.14 carats total weight of diamonds, set in rose gold spiraling outward into white gold. The morganite center stone was cut by world class lapidary artist Stephen Avery.
About the competition, DeMarco wrote:
“Approximately 500 jewels and gems were spread out on tables on the 13th floor of a building in lower Manhattan with large windows that exposed magnificent natural light on a crystal clear day. The pieces were created and entered as part of the world’s most prestigious awards competition for those who work with colored gemstones. The AGTA Spectrum Awards is for jewelry designers and artists who create jewelry with colored gems.” -Anthony DeMarco, Contributor at Forbes.com
