THE MUNSTEINER LAPIDARY LEGACY
Atelier Munsteiner is a multi-generational German lapidary house world renowned for their innovative colored gemstone cutting techniques. Among many distinctions, Bernd Munsteiner is credited with inventing the Fantasy Cut. Today, Bernd’s son Tom continues this dazzling legacy, heading the family’s Atelier and training his son to continue this incredible work.
The signature cutting style is varied and incomparably rich; A testimony to Bernd and Tom’s fascination with the nature of stones. Their perspective sees the movement of light as animation; Crystals in their light play seem to inhabit a space between the animate and inanimate realms.
Through clean cuts, echoing the natural architecture of the stone, and soft organic forms, this mutli-generational gem-cutting team celebrates the crystal. Their work is collected throughout the world by major museums, collectors, and jewelry connoisseurs.
